What is Eyebrow Cosmetic Tattooing?
Eyebrow Cosmetic tattoo involves either a hand-tool or machine with a cluster of fine needles, which are used to implant pigment into the skin to imitate life-like hair strokes and natural looking eyebrows.

What are Eyebrow Cosmetic Tattoo pigments made from and are they safe?
All pigments used at Chelsea Valentino Clinics are of the best quality and highly safe. Most pigments are Iron Oxide and Titanium Dioxide based, a safe non-reactive substance and suspended in distilled water, alcohol and glycerin . The pigments are specifically designed for implantation into human skin.

Is it like a Body Tattoo?
No, The main difference between a traditional body tattoo and a Cosmetic Eyebrow Tattoo is the type of equipment used, the depth of the pigment implanted & the type of pigment implanted into the skin.

What will I look like immediately after the Treatment?
You may experience slight swelling and/or redness1-2 days, weeping may occur for the next 48 hours as the skin is in the initial stages of the healing process. It may than be followed by exfoliation or Scabbing for several days following the procedure.

How intense will the colour initially look?
After your Eyebrow Cosmetic tattoo treatment the colour may appear darker for approximately 10-14 days. During this period the pigment intensity will fade significantly. After four weeks the pigment can continue to fade up to 50%. This is considered an extremely positive occurrence, as

it allows you time to reflect on your new eyebrow shape and colour.

After 4-6 weeks a touch-up treatment is performed and at this point any changes you would like to make are discussed. After your touch-up treatment the pigment will once again fade, but to a much lesser degree.

What does a Refresher treatment involve?
Eyebrow Cosmetic Tattooing is a multi-step process, a touch-up appointment is recommended between 4 to 6 weeks following your initial appointment, colour retention varies depending on the individual clients compliance of home care instructions.

Is the Treatment painful?
During the Eyebrow Cosmetic Tattooing procedure anesthetic is applied to insure client comfort and numbing of the Eyebrows. While some clients do find a small amount of discomfort throughout the procedure most find they mainly feel pressure around the area.

How long will the pigment last?
The longevity of colour in the skin cannot be predicted, Cosmetic tattooing is neither permanent or semi permanent. Some skins hold colour longer and stronger than others, while others fade leaving a light residue in the skin. Pigment may fade or change according to metabolism, lifestyle, skin type, medications, age, smoking, alcohol, sun exposure, and use of active skincare products such as Retin-A and Alpha-Hydroxy Acids (AHA’s)

How often will I need to have my Eyebrow Cosmetic Tattoo re-done?
A Refresher of color is recommended approximately every 12 months to keep the pigment looking its best and the shape looking naturally defined, However this varies for each client, while some may need touch ups every 6 months depending on personal preference, others may opt for every 18 months.

Can I donate blood after a Eyebrow cosmetic Tattooing?

Do I need to Tidy my Eyebrows or Pay extra to have them tidied before hand or on the day?

No & no, It is much easier for Chelsea to be able to see the natural hair growth and natural colour of your Eyebrows if they are all natural. This will assist in choosing the best shape and colour for you, tidying up any unneeded hairs will be removed (at no extra cost) throughout your treatment.

Can i Chose the Eyebrow Shape and Colour?

A colour and shape will be discussed by yourself and Chelsea throughout your consultation, Everyone has an ideal Brow shape that suits them best and an ideal colour palette, therefore Chelsea will guide you through with her professional knowledge & including your wants and desired to insure the best possible outcome for each individual client.

I’m pregnant…

Tattooing during pregnancy will not be carried out at this salon as we are not willing to risk any sort of infection that could potentially harm an unborn child.

I’m breast feeding…

Cosmetic tattooing throughout breastfeeding is a grey area in the cosmetic world however due to the slight risk of passing the anesthetic and potential infection to a new born Chelsea refuses to carry out this treatment whilst breastfeeding.

Do I need to shave my Eyebrows off?

Fortunately not, Cosmetic tattooing in this day and age is designed to make tattoos look like natural eyebrows. To be able to achieve this as much natural brow hair as possible is left to allow them to appear like they are naturally yours.

Is Eyebrow Cosmetic Tattoo permanent?

Eyebrow cosmetic tattoos are not Permanent nor are they semi permanent, unfortunately tattoos fade depending on so many varying factors that we have no control, this is why some may need refresher every 6 months and others every 2 years. I could never guarantee that your tattoo will ever completely fade nor can I guarantee that it wont.

How long does Eyebrow Cosmetic Tattooing last?

As there are so many variables this is a question that only you can answer for yourself. Some need refresher every 6 months whilst others may receive one every 2 years, although I would aim for a touch up every 12 months you will have to decide as to when is right for you. If you are finding that your microblading is fading quiet quickly I would consider moving onto combination, powder or ombre eyerow style tatoo.

Would I still require tinting?

Yes. Eyebrow Cosmetic tattoos are colouring the skin not the hairs therefore tinting maybe needed every 4 weeks, This also makes a huge difference to your brows adding more depth and defining your brows especially as the colour starts to fade. This can be carried out 4 weeks post your touch up appointment.

Can Henna or Tint be used on my Eyebrows after Cosmetic Tattooing?

Henna can be applied once your tattoo is completely healed, however due to the skin being tattooed this may cause a reaction or fading of the tattoo. It will react with each and every client differently.

Can I wear makeup?

No, It is advised to wait 7 days post cosmetic treatment prior to applying any makeup to the treated area. Yes makeup can be applied to the rest of the face though be mindful when removing it at night.

- You may bring in photos of eyebrow shapes you like (Though keep in mind that we all have different face shapes, Eye Shapes, Bone Structures, Skin & hair colours etc and what may look good on others may not suit you.

- Book in your refresher, a refresher up is need 4 to 6 weeks after your first initial consult this is to enhance the eyebrows and give them a fuller more defined look. The Clinic is quiet busy and you may miss out if you do not book in advance therefore to avoid

 - (Optionally) You may wear makeup to your appointment however i will be cleansing the area and removing makeup around the brow area, to also be able to see you skins undertones and natural skin colour i may also remove other sections of makeup therefore i recommend not wearing fondation though wearing brow makeup if you would like me to see the shape or colour you like though it is not a requirment. (Mascara & lippy is ok)

Do not

- Take any medication prior to the procedure

- Avoid drinking Tea, Coffee, alcohol or having any stimulants 24 hours prior to your appointment.

7 - Outline the eyebrow shape with surgical marker

8 - Wax / Pluck unneeded hairs around the new brow shape

9 - Start Tattooing the eyebrows sitting client up throughout to ensure the shape is looking incredible & even

Saline Removal

Saline Removal is a non surgical gentle way to remove pigment that may have changed colour or been implanted into the skin incorrectly.

A solution is implanted into the skin using a course of very fine needles, this withdraws the pigments out through the top of the skin.

Depending on severity, several treatments may be needed, if a course of 3 is necessary cost may decrease at therapists discretion, these need to be paid in advance. Not all Cosmetic Eyebrow tattoos can be removed some will need laser if this is the case you will be advised after sending through photos if you are eligible for saline removal or not.

How Long do i have to wait between appointments?

For best results it is best to wait 8 weeks before another Saline removal treatment or before having your brows Re-tattooed

What will it look like?

Saline removal draws out colours in the pigment depending on so many variables the pigment may turn Salmon, Orange, Red, Black

until the scab falls off. Once the scab falls off you may still see pink this is the skin still healing.

How many session can i have?

I would not carry out more than 5 treatments on a client if it hasn't lifted by this time it more than likely wont with saline removal. I will not carry out saline removal on clients that will benefit more from laser

How do i know how many session i will need?

Due to so many variables it is hard to give a precise answer to this question, you will know after 8 wks healed if another session is needed.

Spot Removal

Not all clients need their entire tattoo removed if this is the case spot removal will be carried out. Discounts maybe applied at therapists discretion.

After Care

KEEP AREA CLEAN and open to the air. Do not cover with a Band-Aid and do not touch the area unless you just washed your hands

CLEANSE 2x daily with saline. Dampen a cotton pad or gauze with over the counter saline and blot the area to cleanse.

DO NOT ICE AS THIS CONSTRICTS THE BLOOD VESSELS. DO NOT SOAK the treated area in water. In and out of the shower avoiding getting area wet. If it does get wet, gently pat dry

NO BATHING, SWIMMING, SAUNAS, HOT TUBS, TANNING OR EXERCISING DO NOT DISRUPT, scratch or pick the scab. The unwanted pigment will be drawn up into the scab so it’s important to keep the scab as long as possible. Allow scab to fall off naturally

ONCE ALL SCABBING FALLS OFF apply one drop of Vitamin E Oil 3 to 4 times a day throughout the day for a minimum of 4 weeks.
